Mannings Bakery

In my final year at NCAD, I found myself in the usual situation of many before me, not knowing what project to dedicate the next few months of my time too. I was fascinated by what lay on shop shelves and like a light bulb moment I realised it was brand & packaging that caught my attention.

Manning's Bakery located on Thomas Street is a family run business for over 60 years. Hand baked bread, sweet treats, and confectionaries it felt like the perfect story to tell. The original identity felt overly sweet in bright pinks and chocolate browns with little branding outside on signage. I wanted to create an identity that heroed the beautiful loaves and ingredients displayed on shelves. Created was a brandmark, icons, a pattern, cake boxes, dry bread mix jars, cake slice holders, a miniature food truck, mugs, tea towels, aprons, brand guidelines, rubber stamp, coffee cups, and loyalty cards.
